Many diners fall in love with the friendly service and vibrant atmosphere that makes each visit a joy. The restaurant’s affordable pricing for such generous portions often surprises patrons, leaving them feeling they received great value for their money.
The coconut drop dessert, with its sweet and rich flavor, receives frequent praise as the ideal ending to a hearty meal. Diners also appreciate the variety of options, from spicy curry rice to refreshing pineapple ginger drinks, all highlighting the unique flavors of Jamaican cuisine. Overall, Mo'Bay creates a warm environment that draws people back for another visit, and the flavors leave a lasting impression.
Most Disliked
Some guests have mentioned that the restaurant's modest location and décor may not meet the expectations of those looking for a polished dining experience. While the focus is on the food, a few diners feel that the ambiance could use a little more character to match the vibrant cuisine. Additionally, while many enjoy the spicy curry rice, a handful find it too spicy for their taste, leading to mixed reviews on that specific dish.
During peak hours, such as Saturday afternoons, the restaurant can become quite busy, resulting in longer wait times for some patrons. A few visitors have mentioned delays in customer service during these rush periods, although this seems to be a temporary inconvenience rather than a norm. Despite these minor hiccups, the overall sentiment remains overwhelmingly positive.

If you’re craving authentic Jamaican flavors, Mo’Bay Island Cuisine is the spot! I tried the jerk chicken with steamed cabbage and spicy rice, and the flavors did not disappoint. The jerk chicken was perfectly seasoned, with just the right amount of heat and smokiness, while the steamed cabbage was tender and flavorful—a perfect complement. The spicy rice lived up to its name—a bit too spicy for my taste, but if you love heat, you’ll love it! To cool things down, I had a pineapple ginger drink that was both refreshing and delicious. I also couldn’t resist a coconut drop dessert, which was the perfect sweet ending to the meal. Great food, great flavors, and a true taste of the islands. I’ll definitely be back!

5 stars for taste, service, and overall quality. I loved my jerk chicken and brown sauce chicken so much, that I ate the leftovers at 1:00 am in the elevator after checking into our hotel in North Carolina. AMAZING.

If you're at all a fan of Jamaican food, Mo' Bay is absolutely fabulous. It's not much to look at. They're not "dressed to impress", but they're serving up some DELICIOUS food with a smile. Excellent service! They even offer a selection of imported beverages to complement your Jamaican dishes. Serving sizes are generous, too. I don't think any of us actually finished our meals. You can tell they know what they're doing here. There was a bit of a line after we arrived (we were on the early side for dinner because we had just traveled in and were hungry). Looks like locals cherish this place. I travel all over the world as a flight attendant and LOVE finding gems like this. Outside of Jamaica, the only other place I've been that really impressed with the Jamaican menu was "Turtle Bay" in Manchester, England. And even that was on a different catering-to-tourists kind of level. Mo' Bay is strictly about serving delicious, authentic flavor.

A true gem in Pooler! This spot serves authentic Jamaican food, just like I remember from my youth. The restaurant is modest, but the food is delicious, hot, and full of flavor. The ladies at the counter and tables provide excellent service, handling everything seamlessly. The prices are almost too low for the quality a fantastic deal. Highly recommended!

My husband and I stopped at Mo’Bays Jamaican Cuisine restaurant on our way to FL. This place is not far off I95 so convenient to get to and park. I got chicken stew, rice and beans and island slaw. My husband got jerk pork with same sides. Medium sized portions are very generous. The chicken was so tender it fell off the bone. Delicious. The rice and beans very good too. The island slaw was vinegar based, different and very complimentary to the entree. My husband said the pork was a bit spicy but so flavorful he couldn’t stop eating! The place is clean. The staff is very friendly and provide great customer service by checking on patrons making sure they’re enjoying their meals. A winner! Such a wonderful change from Chain restaurants while traveling.

Amazing food here and fried chicken is delicious but call ahead and have them fry your chicken so it's fresh & hot! The jerk chili was delicious and the best I've ever had. The staff was super friendly.
